Barb Peel's Studio Tour Apple Cider
3 tins of Allen's apple juice
1 can of water
1/4 cup of sugar
whole cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg, all to taste
cinnamon sticks for looks
1 apple and 1 orange sliced paper thin and added
Bring everything to a boil and keep hot to serve.
You can keep the residue for the next day and add of the above to the left over's. (I think it's best the second day.)

Let it heat in the crock-pot, and serve when heated.
It stays warm for a long time in the crock-pot.
Helen Harrison's Easy Slow Cooker Apple Cider
4 litre jug of apple cider
1 orange, peel on, sliced thin
a few cinnamin sticks
a few whole cloves
Pour the applecider into your slow cooker. Mine holds about 4 litres. I generally use lo or auto, but if I needed it sooner I might use high for a while and then turn it down. I will often turn it on at the beginning of the day if I am expecting company who might like a hot drink, and leave it simmering most of the day. That keeps it hot, and smelling great in the kitchen. If it's getting used up fast, just add more cider.

NEW! Wendy Nelles's Apple Cider Sauce
"I recently visited Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, and enjoyed trying Cider Sauce with baked ham at one of the many Amish-style smorgasbords. The waitress told me the sauce was equally good over apple pie, apple crisp, apple dumplings or bread pudding. I have made a similar Cider Raisin Sauce for ham, so I'm including both options."
Ingredients:
3 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Few grains freshly ground nutmeg
1 cup apple cider
1 teaspoon lemon juice
Optional: 1/4 cup raisins
Directions:
Thoroughly mix the brown sugar, cornstarch, salt, cloves, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a saucepan. Stir in the cider.
Bring rapidly to boiling over high heat; stirring constantly with a wire whisk, continue cooking until mixture is thick and clear, about 3 minutes.
Remove from heat and stir in lemon juice.
If you wish to make an Apple Cider Raisin Sauce, stir in the optional raisins.
Serve warm with baked ham or over apple desserts.
