We began our book launch events across Canada in mid-April of 2011, sprang into high gear starting April 30 to coincide with the book's official launch on May 1, and continued promotion throughout the rest of 2011. Now we're busy again in 2012.

 

 


Tuesday, May 1, 2012 – Adele Simmons read "Charlie" during the  Words Of The Season event
Trinity Irish Pub in Whitby, ON

Adele SimmonsWords of The Season is a seasonal event to showcase authors, produced by Michael Kashmanian of the Durham Festival Theatre with support from the Writers Community Of Durham Region (WCDR).

The evening featured short readings and songs by 18 local writers, including Adele. She read and sang her story from A Second Cup Of Hot Apple Cider – "Charlie" – accompanied by her guitar.

There were over 70 people in the homey restaurant, including children.

Over hot wings and beer, to couples and families just out for a nice evening, the words rang out through the pub… "It is no secret what God can do…" and at the end "Jesus loves me…"

Glynis, who is one of the Zeal for Teal chairpersons, is also the MC for the day.

N. J. Lindquist, award-winning author and columnist, as well as co-editor and publisher of the Hot Apple Cider series, will be teaching a 3-hour workshop that will give an "insider's" glimpse into the world of writing and help you create a plan for your next steps.

Topics include ministry (share what’s in your heart in order to help others), art (strive for originality, go outside the box), craft (say exactly what you want them to say in the way you want to say it), and business (know your goals, have a plan, work in an orderly fashion, network and promote).
