Over the next weeks, we're going to be posting interviews with each of the authors and editors who contributed to the making of Hot Apple Cider.

Up first is Angelina Fast-Vlaar, who has two pieces in Hot Apple Cider. The book opens with her true story, “It Was Then That I Carried You,” in which she shares a little of what’s in her book, Seven Angels for Seven Days. Then on page 103 is the poem she wrote after she was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer.

Angelina is a writer and inspirational speaker who has a passion to communicate encouragement to small or large audiences. Her writing career also includes articles and poetry published in Pioneer, Mennonite Brethren Herald and Christian Courier as well as two books. The Valley of Cancer was first published in 1999 and translated into Dutch in 2004 by her cousin, Hendrik Harssema. Seven Angels for Seven Days was published in 2005. "The Tenth Anniversary Expanded Edition" of The Valley of Cancer was published in 2008 by Word Alive Press. Click here to read our interview with Angelina.

Posted for Eric E. Wright:

I had book signings at four Chapters/Coles stores in November and December that included the sale not only of my novel, The Lightning File, but Hot Apple Cider. Sales were modest but encouraging. Then at a book sale at the Trenton Christian School I also sold Hot Apple Cider along with my other books. Some bought copies while a number of others already had copies and expressed their appreciation for the book. At two of my book launches for my new devotional, Down A Country Road I also sold a number of copies of Hot Apple Cider.

Sheila Wray Gregoire's booksigning at Hearts to God in Stirling, ON

Sheila signs books at Hearts to God in Stirling.Okay, we may be a little town, but Stirling's Hearts to God is a really cute store. And we had such a fun launch there last week!

People were really impressed with the book, and many came out based on all the advertising we had on our local Christian radio.

The bookstore picked up a number of copies to start advertising Christian authors, and I gave her some names of some she might want in her store.

I actually sat down and read some of the entries myself. I'm sorry to say that I hadn't been able to be before, since I only saw it when we started giving them away at the Girls Night Out events I was speaking at last week.

And I loved it! N. J.'s pieces of when she was a little girl were really touching, and I appreciate getting that insight into someone I've already known for a few years.

If you haven't read this book, you should!
